Kea, also known as Tzia, is one of the closest islands to Athens. There are three to four boats a day going to and from Kea, the boat trip is one hour. The house is in the center of the island, 12 kilometers from the port of Korissia and 6 kilometers from the sandy beaches of Sikamia and Orco. 200 meters from the property is a mini-market, restaurant and hairdressers. 8 minutes by car is the main town of the island Ioulida (Chora), which has restaurants, cafes, shops, bakeries and a couple of bars.
The stone farmhouse, which is on a 5,000 sq meters plot of land, is surrounded by trees and offers guests a fantastic view of the sea and surrounding hills with oak trees. The original part of the house was a stable dating back to the last 1800. The present owner renovated the stables, keeping the original stone curved ceilings and 50 cm thick walls and added the kitchen, part of the living room and the bathroom, all again with local stone. This house is ideal for those that want to be one with nature. The property can sleep up to four adults and two children.
The house is on one level and has a living room with a fully equipped open-plan kitchen. The second living area with a fireplace, which is part of the original stables, has two sofas that join together to make a double bed. There a screen to close off part of the area for privacy. Leading off the living room is the bedroom (part of the original house/stables) with a double bed and a large bathroom with a bath tub and a shower.
Outside the house are various seating and dining areas, some have stone built dining tables and benches with large trees offering shade from the hot summer sun. For those that are interested in Archery, there is a professional archery target, equipment not provided. Near the farmhouse are some well known walking trails, some for beginners and others for experienced trekkers.
The house will be de-sanitized, before guests arrive and after their departure.
