This newly renovated 2-bedroom home is perfect for any vacation. Steps away from the beach with picture-perfect views at all times of the year, this property really is a home away from home. A large open-plan kitchen, with a spacious maisonette bedroom above, creates a cosy yet modern feel within this beautiful home. Kalamaki is 6km west of the venetian city of Chania. Kalamaki (Kato Galatas) is the name given to the region of Galatas located next to the beach. It is a popular location for both tourists and locals alike as there are long stretches of beach in either direction from this property. Looking out from the property you will see the beach of Galaros just to the right of the property, this beach connects with another beautiful beach called agio apostoli. Together, these expanses of beaches form a beautiful and idyllic place for rest and relaxation. They are mostly well organised with umbrellas and sunbeds during the summer months and it is a great location if you’d like to explore the island as its also close to the main national road.
There are many hotels, resorts and tavernas in this area because of its beauty and location from the centre of the city. Because it is quite a touristic area there are many mini markets, convenience stores and necessary services within this area.
Kalamaki is the coastal region of the village of Galatas, it is located 6km west of the Venetian city of Chania and is a 30-minute drive (25km) to Chania International Airport; 10-minute drive (4.8km) to Agia Marina; 50-minute drive (47km) to Falasarna; and a 55-minute drive (40km) to the famous Samaria Gorge Trailhead.
Close to the beach of Kalamaki there are also the beaches of Stalos, Agia Marina and Platanias which are also beautiful white sand beaches, very organised with many tavernas and hotels lining its shores.
This property is in a great location as it is just set back from the main coastal road of Kalamaki, this route also has a public bus service that runs frequently to and from the city centre.
It is recommended to hire a car here in Crete if you want to explore the island but we can also help to arrange transfers and private excursions to add that extra special, luxurious feel to your vacation.
