Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Together with a friend, we spent a night at this Albanian sheep farm. After a steep drive up into the mountains, which is surprisingly manageable thanks to the paved road, you arrive in a quiet mountain valley. The colourful light is stunning there, especially at sunset. All you hear is silence and the soft sound of bells as the sheep roam freely through the valley, guided by a shepherd. The people were incredibly kind. Upon arrival, we were offered a glass of raki. The accommodation is very basic but perfectly fine for a night. The dogs on the property are friendly and cosy company. There’s no internet reception in the valley, so you’re completely off the grid for a while. We thought it was a truly lovely experience we can definitely recommend.
