Positive: Upper floor bedrooms and bathroom are nicely renovated. Nice outdoor balcony. Great to stay in an original style cottage. George was very helpful and friendly.

Negative: Main reason I haven’t give this place a top rating that there is a safety issue with the second bedroom. The steep stairs up encroach half way into the landing between this bedroom and the bathroom meaning there is a risk of falling down the stairs at night if someone sleeps in this room and goes to the bathroom. It’s well lit, but it’s too much risk if half asleep in an unfamiliar place. Until this is fixed I strongly recommend against booking this place if you require more than one bed. Other minor things: Shower sprayer doesn’t have a wall fitting so needs to be hand held. Lower floor rooms are not renovated, but the middle floor lounge is quite nice. Quite a lot of stairs in total between the Port and the top floor, so you need to be capable of carrying your own luggage up stairs.

Summary: Nice authentic cottage if you need one bedroom only, but second bedroom is unsafe (details below).
