Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The apartment was quaint and old-fashioned, with old family photographs and lots of old items. Walls were mostly bare stone. It is top-floor, with exposed roof beams. The balcony has a wonderful view over the rooftops to the mountains. The approach is up steep steps, so not suitable for disabled people. We especially liked the welcome we received from the owner, who lives in an apartment below. She is very friendly, and showed us her workroom, where she weaves clothing, carpets and lace on a primitive hand loom. There is a good taverna and cafes on the nearby town square. WiFi is excellent.
Negative: We had a lot of trouble locating the apartment. Google maps got very confused and did not lead us to the address (as is often the case in Cretan villages). We asked several people for directions, bu no-one could help us. We finally found the place by driving around the area, and were lucky to see a sign for Melissa over a doorway as we drove slowly past. A What Three Words location would by much better.
Summary: We enjoyed our stay once we had found the place. We enjoyed meeting and talking with the owner
