Positive: - The view from the villa is really breathtaking. For breakfast, dinner, and morning and evening swims in the pool, I could not help myself but stare into the hills. It's amazing! - Peace and quiet. I only heard the local goats, the night animals, and one evening a live band playing original Crete music in the local Taverna ... wonderful! - To be able to swim in the clean pool looking far off into nature! Wow! Giorgos also cleaned the pool three times during my stay. - Watching the sparrows play in the evening over the pool. - The house is very quiet and cool owing to having the option of air conditioning in every room. - Even though it's 30 minutes to the next major town by car, this meant that there is little traffic / cars passing the villa. - Contact with Giorgos was always great! He was always there if you needed him. - There are several local sites that you can visit which owing to their location are not full with tourists. I would recommend: Diktamos Gorge for a hike and Monumental Olive Tree of Samonas ... a 3000 year old olive tree! - The villa had all the basics which you can expect. - The vialla was hand built by Giorgos' grandfather, with the small houe next to it. They boast being the only two houses in the village that we built using smaller stones, which back then, was a flex because how difficult it was to build! - The night sky! It's not so often you can enjoy the milky way!

Negative: - I think for people considering this villa, you should know it's a work in progress. The pool area is concrete (awaiting a surfacing at some point in the future), the drive was isn't complete, and some of the interior furnishings are there to do the job and will no doubt be upgraded in the future (Giorgos is working on this villa as a pet project). But depending on what you pay and what you are looking or here, it's can be very worth while. For me it was important to have a peaceful sanctury in nature where I used mainly the bedroom, terrace, kitchen, pool, and loved the views. It was more than what I cold ask for. For the same price I would have gotten an cramped apartment without a view on the outskirts of Chania on a busy road.
