House structure
The renovation on the building respected all the visible old masonry and plaster coating, leaving to a large extent their "rough" appearance. The house applies a green energy policy covering most of its electricity consumption from photovoltaic panels on the building's roof and providing hot water from a solar water heater. A modern form of thermal insulation has been applied to the building and in combination with the high tech air conditioners in all bedrooms and sitting rooms provide the conditions for a comfortable living in the summer. For the cooler months, a low consumption heat pump takes care of house's heating via underfloor heating. Additionally, high-aesthetically thermally insulated hinged aluminium doors and windows have been installed. Power sockets all over the house and Wifi access points in both floors assure internet coverage is available throughout the house while a 43’’ smart tv may also provide you with content over the Internet with Netflix account
Ground floor
As you enter the house from the main entrance, a small kitchenette with exit to the ground floor veranda, a bathroom boasting a shower spot, a small reception area with it’s wooden ceiling and a comfortable corner to enjoy your favourite book welcomes you in the space that a century ago was the house's wine cellar. The sitting room area features a comfortable sofa that can be used exceptionally as a bed and a wonderful old stone doorway arche leads through the door to the ground floor veranda. Moreover, an elegant metal door gives access to the northern alley.
First floor
Climbing up the metal staircase with the wooden steps and under the mesmerising light effect of the circular skylight you are charmingly invited to the open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room area with a single layout where you can prepare and enjoy your meals or proceed to the terrace with its large sun umbrella and comfy aluminium chair sittings where you can relax enjoying the beautiful view of Agios Nikolaos church.
The main bedroom provides a Queen size bed (1,60x2,00) and wardrobe, lightened up with natural light from a window and modern hidden lighting for the nights that create an exquisite ambience. The second bedroom features a double bunk bed, window, wardrobe, an extra laptop-friendly desk and offers direct access to the first floor terrace.
A family bathroom is also available on the first floor with a special shower area and a small storage room houses the laundry, alarm & internet control essentials.
