Summary: Hydra is a truly remarkable place! The fun started as soon as we boarded the ferry, and continued on the donkey train up the hill to this wonderful villa, and all the way through to our sadder descent to our returning ferry. The bedrooms and baths were spacious and charming, the outdoor upstairs terrace was lovely, and the pool, while small, certainly came in handy on those hot June afternoons. The kitchen was well stocked and we frequently had breakfast and lunch there —- even one dinner if I remember right. The villa is located up a series of steep steps, but we got used to that. Just be sure to drop crumbs on your first trip to the harbor so you can find your way back again! The quiet was amazing, and is one of the real assets of the island and this villa. The villa is accessible to the main harbor as well as to the other side of the island where we spent pleasant afternoons at a beach with umbrellas and lounges for a reasonable fee. Should we ever be lucky enough to return to Hydra, I would happily book this villa again.
